Heatwave causes Power Cuts

Unseasonably high temperatures in Poland have lead to power cuts and energy supply restrictions affecting industry giants such as ArcelorMittal and Grupa Azoty. Car makers Volkswagen, General Motors and Fiat risk being affected if the situation continues long term as it is currently coinciding with their Summer break.

The high temperatures are affecting the supply of natural water supplies, which are used to cool power stations. This is resulting in reduced electricity production.

Poland’s National Grid Management company has said that it is imposing large restrictions on electricity to large factories and industrial plants between 10.00 and 22.00 and some minor cutbacks overnight.

This situation highlights the benefits of having a dedicated diesel generator power backup for your business operations. Even with national power restrictions, your operations would remain unaffected.
