Single Phase Explained

UPS  Power Systems are manufactured either as single phase or three phase modules.

UPS Power Systems – single phase is symbolized as S:S than means single phase IN and single phase OUT
It can also be abbreviated to 1:1

UPS Power Systems are that provide single phase output can also be single phase input. This allows you to use either standard 13 amp supply sockets or hard wired to a 220 volt supply.

UPS Power Systems – single phase output are usually from 0.5kVA up to a maximum of 30 kVA.

UPS Power Systems – Up to a maximum of 30KvA Single phase output – These UPS can be built to provide a single phase output supply from a three phase input supply but these need to be specified at the point or production.

These are symbolised as 3:1 that means Three phase IN and Single phase OUT

Single Phase is 220-230 Volts
Three Phase is 400-440 Volts
